Aquarius Birthday Card
I have a penpal in Canada whose Birthday falls on February 15th. Well, I only found out about it a week or so before hand, so I raced to find something for her. That's when I remembered my Grecian Zodiac chart. I pulled her starsign from it and worked as fast as I could to stitch it. It was really hard as there's so many fractionals and shades of yellow, but I managed and framed it in a gold card to bring out the yellow.
I added stars and a birthday greeting to really finish it off and got my dad to cut the arpeture for me.
Your cat Loves you
I found this design in my subscribers copy of Cross Stitcher and just HAD to stitch it. I may have jumped into the deep end with both eyes closed though, because even though it's a small project....it was a massive undertaking!
My first mistake was in choosing 32count linen without realizing that almost none of the backstitch ends neturally. So the threads kept slipping around!
I'm turning him into a fridge magnet.
Winter Scene
I chose this design because it looked simple enough to stitch on the bus and during "fag" breaks, even with the attention I was getting.
I still have to attach it to a card though.
Joy
So I live out in the stix, which means that I now have an hours commute
to town, which is quite clustraphobic and makes me feel trapped. So, I
decided to take my stitching to occupy my mind so that I don't feel
soooo trapped. So I took in my Christmas stitching.
I also
planned on stitching during the "fag" breaks. This never really
happened as my stitching attracted a LOT of attention. I only managed to do this one and the one above
I really enjoyed working on this one and got it done pretty fast as it's mainly blackwork.
I still have to attach it to a card though.
Thank you
I am in the process of moving house at the moment, and as anyone who is
disorganized will tell you, it's ever so complicated. I have Sooooooooo
much to do, I don't even have the internet yet! I've not even finished
moving boxs! So my neighbours agreed to forward my mail for me as we
share the same mail box.
Well as some of you may remember, I
stitched this flower to test a new fabric, but I thought it just
totally suited the thank you card that I wanted to send to my
neighbours, not only as a thank you, but the blurred bit is also
telling them where to forward my mail too.
Stitched on 32 count linen
Hand made paper of cream and pink
I
didn't want the back of my stitching to be on show, so I used a three
fold card. Gluing one of the folds against the stitching arpeture, I
hid the back of the stitching quite nicely, if I do say so myself. I'll
let you decide as I scanned the front and inside.
Christmas with Bently Bear
Took me three days to complete this using a printed boarder and a needle and thread. The kit didn't have enough thread so I had to improvise and the boarder was too small so I had to cut it bigger.
Still got to turn it into a card...
The character is called Bentley Bear.
Needlecase
So I'm always loosing my needles, I swear down in the last two months
alone I've lost at least twelve! It's not like I even loose them in
obvious places, I found one once in my shoe! One on the kitchen window
ledge (the only thing infront of my kitchen window is the sink and I
was not stitching in the sink)...It's just ridiculous! So...in an
effort to curb this waste of time and money, I made myself a needlecase.
The
picture is a chart I got from hobbycraft, I really wish I knew what the
flower was, but I don't for sure. I think it's a chrysanthemum, but if
I'm wrong correct me.
The instructions in the kit confused me
though, so I made it my way. I actually like my way better too. This
book has two pages and a back cover made entirely out of felt, the
front cover is backed by felt and a golden tassle atached.
Love you mum
A present for my mums Birthday. The frame and design came with Cross stitch crazy #122. The frame has a magnet on the back if she wants to stick it on the fridge.
Somebunny loves you
A present for my mom, for mothers day. I suck with the glue gun though.
Bunny Sachet
This was sent to me when I found out my gramma has cancer, but it took me ages to get around to stitching it.
All the colours have been improvised.
I
plan on turning this into a sachet, although I still have to decide
whether to do a teddy holding a heart for the other side or just have a
plain back.
Baby bunny
No real reason for stitching this other than it was just too cute not to!
Christmas Lickle Ted
This chart came in one of my magazines and is the character Lickle Ted.
This is the first project I started and the second I finished. I ran
into a lot of problems with this as I was still learning to stitch, but
also because there's 2 shades of white, six of cream, four of beige, 2
reds and so on and I couldn't tell the difference between them!
My mum has claimed this one and it is still waiting to be framed.
Get Well soon Gramma
A cross stitched card that I made for my gramma when she went into
hospital. It didn't photograph well I'm afraid. But the words are a
metallic purple.
I bought the origional design at hobbycraft but
adapted the colours to suit my taste and completely changed the
wording.
Sadly, my gramma didn't get well. They discovered cancer which later killed her.
